Limited to 300 copies split LP. Chora is the duo of Rob Lye and Ben Morris, key players in the now sound of Sheffield, here joined by Ben Nash and Karl Brummer. Their junkyard gamelan style has evolved to the point that they inhabit the same future-primitive ritual improvisation zone as Japanese thinkers like Chie Mukai and Masayoshi Urabe, combing split reeds, crashing cymbal work and extreme pointillist violence in order to tear themselves a new canvas. Quivers is guitarist Ninni Morgia alongside bassist Jordon Schranz and drummer Mike Pride, a student of Milford Graves who has played with Anthony Braxton, John Zorn and Keiji Haino. The trio play heavy metal free jazz in the tradition of electric improvisers like AMM, MEV et al. Artwork by Pascal Nichols of Part Wild Horses Mane On Both Sides. - David Keenan
